While most people think of Osama Bin Laden as the leader of Al Qaeda,, they are wrong. Osama is/was the money man. Ayman al-Zawahiri is/was the brains. Here is a shot of Osama and al-Zawahiri right after 911. Please note who has the microphone. For those unfamiliar with the two, it is al-Zawahiri doing the talking not Bin Laden.
al-Zawahiri is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood under one of its early leaders, Sayyid Qutb, established the ideological framework for al Qaeda. Sayyid Qutb espoused a strict Islamic state under the iron rule of a dictator. Much of his ideology evolved during an extended visit to America, a country whose people he loathed.
Enemy Mine
We have met the enemy and he is us. - Walt Kelly
Surprisingly, at its core our establishment, loathes its own people too and believes that we need to be ruled with an iron hand by an elite. Therefore, it is not unexpected that they would support the Muslim Brotherhood because they share a common enemy, us. JohnQuincy recently traced part of this history of how the establishment came to take a dim view of its own people in a recent post, This Mortal Coil: Shangri-La & the 2nd Death. In a nutshell, our founders believed in the philosophy of John Locke who posited that humans are reasonable and tolerant thus making them capable of managing their own affairs. Our establishment has adopted the opposing viewpoint of Thomas Hobbes who believed that men are nasty and brutish and, as such, we need to be ruled over with an iron hand by an absolute monarch.Ever War Series
Winston Churchill once famously stated that only the victors write history. He was wrong. The vanquished do too only their history gets erased. Ever War is a history of the vanquished. It will soon disappear along with the remnants of our once proud, free society. Other Ever War Posts Include:
...and Nobody Gives a Damn, Part I
President Lancer and the Honeytrap
The al Qaeda, Iraq Connection
Stalin, Hollywood and the Editing of History
Nonsense
Given the establishment's Hobbesian world view, it should come as no big shock that James Clapper, the Director of National Intelligence would defend the Muslim Brotherhood before congress today:
In a related development, local law enforcement agencies are jumping into the Clapper act:
The Rabble
It should also come as no bombshell that they would consider proponents of limited government and individual liberty to be the true enemy.
Liar Liar
Pants On Fire
Lie lie lie lie liar you lie lie lie lie
Tell me why tell me why
Why d'you have to lie
Should've realised that
Should've told the truth
You're in suspension
You're a liar
-Johnny Rotten
While media in the United States condemned the Sex Pistols, they were actually a reaction to the suppressive socialist government in England during the 1970's and many of their songs carried a prescient message Here they are telling a hostile United States audience how to view a liar, with suspicion:

For some reason, this song, Liar, kept popping into my head when Sandy Berger, the National Security Advisor under President Bill Clinton was caught stuffing classified material from the United States National Archives down his pants shortly before he was to testify before the 911 Commission. He was later convicted of unauthorized removal of classified material and received a slap on the wrist. Par for the course, he later served as Foreign Policy Advisor in the 2008 Hillary Clinton Presidential campaign. Curiously, the media quickly forgot about the case and little follow up was done concerning what type of information would cause a national figure to jeopardize their entire professional career.
Much evidence points to the fact that the documents in questions may have demonstrated a link between Ayman al-Zawahiri and the Oklahoma City Bombings: Al-Qaida-OKC link included in Berger doc?
